"It's crooked mate!" Liam yelled up to one of his best friends who was on a tall step ladder, leaning against a tall, green tree.
"Shush Liam! I'm fixing it!" Louis called back from the tall step ladder, fiddling with the star that he was trying so hard to fix and make perfect.
It was their first Christsmas together.
Him and his mates. I was their firt Christsmas as a band.
Louis wanted it PERFECT.
But, as soon as Louis got his hand around the star, the ladder slipped from underneath him.
He fell and fell until he felt someone's arms under his body.
He opened his eyes, since he closed them when he slipped, out of pure reaction.
He flickered them open to see his bandmate Zayn smiling wide at him.
"You alright Cinderella?" Zayn asked, laughing Louis pushing away from his friend.
"Sorry mates, I tried to make it alright, but I guess I ain't what I used to be." Louis chuckled at them.
Band mates Harry and Niall entered the room, the whipping snow and frigid wind nipping at them until the door was closed and they were safe and warm inside.
"Harry! Niall! Where were you guys?" Liam asked them, bringing them to the couch so they could get accustemed to the warmth of the raging heater that went on in the house.
"We were on our way here, Haz came and picked me up from my house so we could all get together on Christmas." Niall smiled, still shaking in his hoodie, zipping it up more.
"Thanks mate, it really isn't Christsmas without you guys." Zayn smiled.
"Or all of us together." a deep and controlling voice boomed, or more than likely ecoed through the room, causing the boys to turn their heads to the voice.
Coming out of the kitchen, was Josh.
"Joshua!" Harry smiled, standing and wrapping him inside a big hug.
Josh hugged back and soon all of the boys were in the giant group hug.
Louis was the one to pull away first.
He wanted to stand back and observe the tree he had tried so hard to make perfect for the band.
Liam always put his hand on his shoulder throughout the time, muttering 'don't worry about it.'
But Louis was worried about it, he was worried about it a lot.
Band mate Niall came and sat by him on the couch and noticed he was still string at the tree, like it wasn't good enough though it looked wonderful.
"Hey man, what's wrong?" Niall asked, nudging Louis a little.
"Oh, it's just that back home in Doncaster, every Christmas was perfect," Louis sighed.
Sensing a story was about to be told, all of the guys including Josh gathered around the two on the couch.
"It was magical. Lights, laughing, great food, dancing a little, flashes, all of that. And I just don't feel like it's good enough. I don't feel like I've made this Christmas the best it could be." Louis finished, with another sigh escaping his lips.
Niall didn't really know what to tell his friend in need, so he only awkwardly patted him on the back.
"But it couldn't be any better than it is mate!" Josh exclaimed.
Louis sniffled and looked up to Josh.
"Yeah, you made it the best Christmas ever Lou!" Liam exclaimed along with him.
Louis sniffled again.
"Yeah Louis. It's not about the presents, or the lights, or anything like that. It's the best Christmas because we're all here. I'm here, Liam's here, Harry's here, Niall's here, Josh is here and YOURE here! That makes it the perfect Christmas." Zayn made Louis stand and wrapped him in the biggest hug ever.
Soon, everyone wrapped themselves in the hug.
"Thanks Zayn. It IS the best Christmas ever. Beacause I'm spending it with you guys." Louis sniffled again.
